Who Is Jesus
For millenni (about 2 in
fact) people have debated the question "Who is Jesus?" I think C. S.
Lewis put it best when he stated that "Jesus is either a liar, lunatic or
Lord." Which do you believe he is? Jesus may be a liar in that He
claims to be the Messiah (Matthew 26:63-64), the Son of God. Many
also claim that He is a lunatic for claiming this... What do you think?
If you don't think Jesus is a liar, or a lunatic, then the only option
left is that He is Lord! AND HE IS JUST THAT. Jesus is the Lord of
lords and King of kings. And He wants to be your friend and savior too.
How can that be you ask?
Read on.
The Bible Introduces us to
this great truth...
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth In Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not His Son Into the world to condemn the world; but that the
world through Him might be SAVED."
John 3:16,17
EVERY PERSON NEEDS
TO BE SAVED!
Why? Because we have sinned (or rebelled) against God. The Bible says "For
ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23
We must take our sins seriously...sin separates us from the amazing gifts
of God!
"For the wages of sin
is death [separation from
God]..."
Romans 6:23
There is a cost to being
separated from God...
"Anyone not found written In the Book of Life was cost into the lake of
fire."
Revelation 20:15 - Ouch!
BUT, GOD LOVES
SINFUL MAN
The Bible says "For when we were yet without strength, in due time CHRIST
DIED FOR THE UNGODLY. God demonstrates His love toward us, In that while
we were still sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US. Much more then, being now
justified BY HIS BLOOD, WE SHALL BE SAVED from wrath through him."
Romans 5:6,8-9
"The blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN."
1 John
1:7
WHEN CHRIST DIED AND AROSE FROM THE GRAVE, HE PAID THE PENALTY FOR ALL OUR
SINS. THIS MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR EVERYBODY TO BE SAVED. However, Jesus'
death and resurrection will not save us automatically.
EACH ONE HAS A DECISION TO
MAKE, A STEP OF FAITH TO TAKE.
WHAT MUST YOU DO TO BE
SAVED?
1.Admit your need for help [I am a sinner] and be willing to turn from sin
[repent].
2.Personally invite Jesus Christ into your life. This can be illustrated
by opening a door.
The Bible says "Behold, I (Jesus) stand at the door and knock. If anyone
hears My voice and OPENS THE DOOR, I will come In to him and dine with
him, and he with Me."
Revelation 3:20
You open the door of your heart by praying a sincere prayer of faith.
PLEASE READ this helpful written prayer ...
Dear God, thank you for your love that sent Your Son Jesus Christ to die
and pay the penalty for my sins. I do believe Jesus is alive and
listening to my prayer. I am a sinner. With Your help, dear God, I want to
turn from my sins. I know I can not save myself by good deeds. From this
moment on, Lord Jesus, I trust You completely to save me. Please come
into my heart and live Your life through me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
DOES THIS PRAYER
EXPRESS THE DESIRE OF YOUR HEART?
If it does, pray right now! Jesus is eager to save you.
The Bible says "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall
be saved."
Romans 10:13
YOU CAN COUNT ON GOD TO
KEEP HIS PROMISES!
HOW CAN WE BE SURE
WE ARE SAVED?
God's Word is our assurance ... God cannot lie! Reread:
Romans 10:13,
Revelation 3:20 and...
"But as many
as received Him [Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children of
God..."
John 1:12
"And this is the record: that God HAS GIVEN us eternal life, and this life
is in His Son.
He who has the Son HAS life; he who does not have the Son of God does not
have life.
These things I have written to you who believe In the name of the Son of
God, THAT YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...."
1John 5:11-13
GOD SAYS IT! I
BELIEVE IT! THAT SETTLES IT!
