CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Sunday School Teachers
Prepare and present a lesson during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday school hour using provided curriculum. Teaching positions available in preschool through 5th grade classrooms.  Time Commitment: 4 months/year, 3 hours/week
Classroom Helper
Assist the Sunday school teachers in preschool through 5th grade classrooms during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday school hour.  Time Commitment: 4 months/year, 1.5 hours/week
Nursery Caregiver
Arrive in nursery 15 minutes before church services begin and serve as loving caregivers to children (infant to 36 months) during 8:15, 9:30 or 10:45 service.  Time Commitment: 4 months/year, 1.5 hours/week
eKids Praise Hosts and Storytellers
Volunteers needed for 10:30 a.m. on Sundays.  Time Commitment: 4 months/year, 1.5 hours/week
eKids Serve Activity Leaders
Assist in planning and guiding children in monthly service projects.  Time Commitment: 2nd & 4th Sundays, 11:15 a.m.
eKids Serve Choir
Assist with choir practice and programs during Sunday morning eKids Serve.  Time Commitment: 1st & 3rd Sundays,11:15 a.m.
eKids Audio-Visual Techs
Operate AV equipment during eKids Praise.  Time Commitment: 4 months/year 1.5 hours/week
Preschool Caregiver
During eKids serve, provide care for 3- and 4-year-old children.  Time Commitment: 4 months/year, 1.5 hours/week
Event Volunteers
Assist with events for children and their families to encourage the development of meaningful connection with the church.  Time Commitment: 2-4 hours/event
Upward Sports
Each year, the Upward program serves 300 children playing basketball and cheerleading. Volunteer roles include : coach, assistant coach, referee, devotion leader, greeter, set-up, tear-down

STUDENT MINISTRIES

Sunday School Teachers

Sunday Night Youth Staff
Assist youth pastor with Sunday night programming by leading/assisting with games,      discussion, crowd control, and clean-up.  Intentionally develop relationships with students throughout the week.  Time Commitment:  Year-Round – 3-4 hours/week
Small Group Leaders
Lead or shepherd students spiritually, incorporating prayer and devotional elements into group meetings using supplied curriculum.  Time Commitment:  Year-Round – 2 hours/week
Event Volunteers
Assist with events for students to encourage the development of meaningful connection with the our community.  Time Commitment:  2-4 hours/week
On-Campus Support
Attend school-sponsored and extracurricular activities of our students.  Time Commitment:  2-4 hours/month

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY

Christ Ambassadors
Welcome attenders and guests on Sunday morning.  Serve as the hospitality host and facilities guide.  Staff the Welcome Center.  Time Commitment:  Sunday 8:15, 9:30, 10:45 (4 months/year)
Greeters/Ushers
Perform ushering duties, which include greeting attenders/guests, receiving offering, assisting with seating, distributing bulletins/special materials, assisting during emergencies, and completing after-service cleaning and closing duties. Time Commitment:   Sunday 8:15, 9:30, 10:45 (4 months/year)
Coffee Host
Prepare coffee on Sunday morning, stock supplies for the coffee stations, and clean up coffee stations. Time Commitment: Sunday morning, 2 hours

OUTREACH MINISTRY

Missions
Our Faith Promise giving supports 15 national and international missionaries and over 15 mission organizations.  Join the team to help guide and coordinate mission outreach throughout the year.  Learn more about LOCAL missions and INTERNATIONAL missions.  Time Commitment:  Varies
Outreach Ministry
Help with outreach events in our community.  Events include Stories with Santa, Easter Egg Hunt, Kid’s Kamp, Reverse Trick-or-Treating, and more. Time Commitment:   Once per quarter

 

WORSHIP & MUSIC MINISTRY

Good News Choir
Perform in choir during 8:15 a.m. service.  Contact the church office  if you are interested in joining the Good News Choir.  Time Commitment:  Thursday evening rehearsal; Sunday 8:15
Special Music
Solo or ensemble vocalists and instrumentalists to perform during Sunday morning services.  Time Commitment: Sunday 8:15, 9:30, 10:45
Emmanuel Worship Band
Vocalists and instrumentalists to lead worship on Sunday morning.  Time Commitment:   Sunday 9:30, 10:45
Visual Arts
Artistically use lighting and props to  create a worship environment that enhances the sermon   series, holidays, or other major church   initiatives.  Time Commitment:  As needed
Communion Servers
Serve Communion the first Sunday of the month and for special services.  Time Commitment:  Sundays 8:15, 9:30, 10:45 (1st Sunday of month)
Readers
Read Scripture or responsive text during Sunday morning or special services.

TECHNICAL & SKILLED

Computer Support
Provide technical support and maintenance to computer system, including the hardware, software, and network support.  Time Commitment:  Average one hour/week
Audio-Visual Tech
Responsibilities could include operating sound board, media, and lighting during Sunday morning services and special events.  Time Commitment:  Sunday 8:15, 9:30, 10:45
Website Team
Assist with website development/maintenance. Time Commitment:  As needed
Graphic Art Design
Design graphics for message series, communication, and/or website. Time Commitment:  As needed
Video Production Team
Assist with video production through video recording, design, and editing. Time Commitment:  As needed

CARE MINISTRY

Prayer Team
Regularly pray for prayer requests communicated on attendance cards.  Pray with individuals during/after Sunday morning worship.  Time Commitment:  Two hours/week
Funeral Meals
Prepare and/or serve meals for funeral dinners. Time Commitment:  As needed
Meal Ministry
Prepare and/or serve meals for those with care needs. Time Commitment:  As needed
Care Team
Provide care with visits, cards, and/or calls..  Time Commitment:  4 hours/month

 

ADULT MINISTRIES

Sunday School Facilitator
Prepare and facilitate lessons for adult Sunday school class.  Time Commitment:  Each Sunday
Small Group Facilitator
Lead a small group in regular (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) meetings.  Group meetings may include using curriculum to study a particular topic and facilitate discussion.  Time Commitment:  Two-four times/month
Bible Study Facilitator
Lead a short-term Bible: day time or night time, weekday or weekend.  Time Commitment: Flexible
United Methodist Men (UMM)
Opportunities to volunteer for events sponsored by the UMM.  Also, seeking men with basic skills in plumbing, light carpentry or electrical wiring, painting, and landscaping to complete special projects organized by the UMM.  Time Commitment:  Varies
United Methodist Women (UMW)
The UMW provides opportunities for women to find fellowship with other women, become involved in various mission and service projects, and encourage one another in the Christian faith.  Time Commitment:  Varies

OPERATIONS

Office Support
Provide office support by preparing mass mailings, performing various clerical duties, and acting as a substitute receptionist. Time Commitment:   2 hours/week
Bulletin Folders
Fold bulletins and place inserts in weekend bulletins (Friday afternoons).  Time Commitment:  1.5 hours/week
Building & Grounds
Assist with building and grounds upkeep.  Time Commitment:  As Needed
Offering Counter
Count and record monetary contributions from weekly offering and event proceeds as needed.  Skills Needed:  Attention to detail, confidentiality, proficient with numbers.   Time Commitment:  Sunday after services/events
Financial Auditor
Audit financial records annually.  Skills Needed:  Accounting/bookkeeping experience, ability to read financial statements, investigative.  Time Commitment:  20 hours between February-April
