New to Emmanuel?

Kyler Welch, Praise and Worship Team Leader

If you are visiting for the first time, we encourage you to stop at our greeters and let them know you are new. You might even want to stop by our Connection Center for more information or a cup of coffee.

Two opportunities for worship are offered each Sunday morning. At both 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., worship is a thoughtful, blended mix of hymnody, liturgy, and old songs reinterpreted for a new generation.

To get you started, here is what you need to know about Emmanuel:

What you will find at Emmanuel:

We are a group of diverse individuals from all walks of life and all age groups.  Some members have been here since the building began and others have only been attending a few weeks.  Both services are a blend of all generations worshipping God.

What if I don’t know the songs or am not familiar with the Bible?

It’s ok.  Some of us have been long-time learners of the Bible and we still find new and interesting things about the Bible each time we read it.  Don’t worry if you don’t have your own.  We have plenty of Bibles in the pews and you are welcome to take one if you don’t have your own. The songs we sing are new to some and familiar to others.  Our Praise and Worship director likes to add new songs all the time, so you can learn the songs right along with us.

What is the music like?

We have a YouTube channel so you can see previous worship services.  See for yourself what our services are like.

What about my kids?

We believe it is important to pursue lifelong learning and that is why we start our youngest children through adults on a growth plan that involves incremental learning and life application.

What should I wear?

Whatever you are comfortable in.  You can come dressed up or  in a t-shirt and shorts.  We care more about your heart than what you have on.

Can I bring my coffee, water bottle, or sports drink?

Absolutely.  We do offer coffee in decaffinated and regular as well as hot water should you prefer tea or hot chocolate.

What should I expect on my first visit?

A lot of people gathered together in the entryway chatting and then other people gathering to chat in the sanctuary.  What you will find is that we love to talk.  If we don’t immediately notice you are new, don’t be offended.  We just like to catch up with each other.  It’s like when you see family you haven’t seen in a while, you spend a good amount of time finding out what they have been doing since you last saw them.

Other than worship, is there somewhere else I can start to find out more about Emmanuel?  SURE!
